Phil received his formal art education from Cooper School of Art, Cleveland Institute of Art and Chouinard Institute of Art in Los Angeles. His professional career began as an Artist-Illustrator rapidly moving into positions of Art Director, Creative Director and Vice President. Having reached this level of success, Phil decided to leave the corporate world of art in l983 to become a full-time self-employed fine art painter.
Offering his paintings to the collector thru highly juried Fine Art Festivals has proven to be a very satisfying endeavor. Fine Art Festivals offer superior work at affordable prices, unlike galleries where Phil’s collector pieces bring substantially more. Although each of his paintings is a unique expression of his God-given talents, the common thread running thru each is his wonderful sense of color combined with highly textural passages and fluid movement, creating very strong paintings full of life and vitality but with a feeling of happiness, peace and contentment. Many of his works are tropical in feeling using marine life, florals, exotic birds, and mesmerizing skyscapes His creations are in major corporate collections including The American Greetings Corporation Permanent Collection and The Walt Disney Corporation Permanent Collection.
